3D VISUALIZATION ARTIST, TORONTO

Yabu Pushelberg, an award winning interior design firm that specializes in the design of high-end hospitality and retail design is currently seeking a 3D Visualization Artist for our Toronto studio.

Key areas of responsibility:
- assist in the creation of 3D Photo-realistic renderings of Architectural Interiors
- assist in most phases of producing a rendering from start to finish, including: modeling, lighting, texturing, rendering and post-processing
- liaise with designers and clients in order to create renderings

As the Successful Candidate, You Have:
- A keen eye for color and knowledge of color theory
- A very high attention to detail
- The ability to solve problems creatively and on your own
- The ability to communicate properly and quickly with the designers
- A true dedication and pursuit of the craft with the desire to operate at the highest level in the industry
- An education in/and or passion for Architecture

Required Skills:
- 2 - 4 years of relevant experience
- Good knowledge of Photoshop, AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Sketchup and VRay are a must
- Good ability to understand Blue prints/CAD drawings and then create 3d models based on that data is a must
- Self-drive to learn and grow with 3D programs through hours of trial and error
- Can set and meet own internal deadlines
- Adobe Creative Suite and Additional 3D software skills are an asset

FURNITURE DESIGNER, NEW YORK

Yabu Pushelberg, an award winning interior design firm that specializes in the design of high-end hospitality and retail design is currently seeking a Furniture Designers for our New York studio. Successful candidates should consider themselves highly creative and this creativity and passion for design is demonstrated in your outstanding portfolio. We seek designers with Big Ideas and the ability to understand the subtlety and detail required to execute international luxury projects.

The overall scope of the role will be to assist in the development of furniture, fixtures and products.

Key areas of responsibility:

Concept/Schematic
- Sketching, rapid computer modeling, and rendering of specific pieces in coordination with design teams
- Select directional images and research

Design Development
- Flush out and refine approved pieces from concept and schematic phase
- Assist in any information the Spec department may require.

Construction Documents
- Producing and assembling complete buildable drawings for selected pieces (details/sections/orthographic views) of selected furniture pieces for presentation, prototyping and production
- Work with Project Management in the development of prototypes as required

Construction Administration
- Provide sufficient information when requested by the Project Management team in the development of budgets.
- Answer vendor and supplier questions on selected pieces
- Review Shop Drawings and Submittals


Qualifications (necessary skills and experience required):
- Graduate of a 4 year degree or equivalent diploma in Industrial or Furniture design program
- 3+ years of work experience necessary
- Previous experience in luxury hospitality and retail environments is an asset
- Proficient in 3D modeling software: SolidWorks or Rhino, knowledge of associated rendering packages and/or plug-ins
- Strong sketching ability, visualization skills, and a keen sense of proportion
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and techniques; with hands on experience building furniture and products
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), strong graphic and presentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to switch and prioritize between several projects or tasks at once, working well both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to switch between different design genres and styles, on a project-to-project basis

PROJECT MANAGEMENT INTERN, NEW YORK

Yabu Pushelberg, an award winning interior design firm that specializes in the design of high-end hospitality and retail design is currently seeking a Project Management Intern to fill Intermediate for our New York studio.



KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBITY:
- Rearranging flat files
- Review of hard copy shop drawings in order to convert the drawings to softcopy
- Organization of PM files and shelves
- Log shop drawings and submittals, update submittal logs
- Photograph/scan samples
- Help to organize/re/organize older project folders in order to maintain consistency within the PM filing system
- Researching and getting quotes from vendors
- Providing overall support to the Project Management Team
- Other duties and special projects as assigned



QUAIFICAITONS (necessary skills and experience required):
- Must be enrolled in a University or College co-op or internship program or newly graduated
- Academic background architecture, building systems, construction management or related field
- Knowledge of the Interior Design Profession
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills

SALES & CONTRACTS MANAGER (13 MONTH CONTRACT), TORONTO or NEW YORK

Yabu Pushelberg, an award winning interior design firm that specializes in the design of high-end hospitality and retail design is currently seeking a Sales & Contracts Manager to fill a 13-month opportunity in either our Toronto or New York studio.

The overall scope of the role will be to evaluate and respond to all potential project queries, assess the appropriateness of potential projects and to prepare contracts for projects YP is interested in pursuing. The S&C Manager will also require an understanding of client requests in relation to the services YP provides, the implications of these requests on the scope of the work and architecture, and will have the ability translate and strategically negotiate these requests into the project contract.

Key areas of responsibility:

- Receive all new business inquiries on new design projects
- Prepare all marketing materials as requested by potential clients
- Review all potential project material and craft free proposals
- Correspond with potential clients accordingly
- Negotiate contracts with potential clients
- Review all fee and contract negotiations with Senior Leadership
- Close contracts and arrange for retainer payments
- Update the business development list and assist with BD strategies
- Help to maintain relationships with potential clients
- Be aware of and pursue new projects that would be a good YP fit
- Maintain and update internal marketing materials

Qualifications (necessary skills and experience required):
- Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business or related field of Design (Interior Design, Architecture etc.)
- Previous experience in business development, sales and contracts in luxury hospitality, retail environments, interior design or architecture is an asset
- Advanced research skills with a strong focus on organization and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, written and interpersonal
- Proven negotiation skills
- Client savvy
- You are flexible to work with internationally-based clients and willing to support their requests when/as required (i.e. Communication method, accommodate schedules etc.)
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office
