Issue No. 3 DRIVE

Drive: An Open Letter

There are three dominant desires of human beings: food (eat and drink), sex (fertility, unification and interceptions) and play (leisure, games and intellect behaviors)(1). These desires are driven by body cells, impulsiveness of brain, verbal or reward mechanism to drive mankind to make decisions and an end to execute them consciously, or simply an animated emotional practice without ration. Of course, they all ruled by factor of time, and limited by the sphere of fourth dimensional time frame. Hence, when people aware the limitation of time, then driving forces eventually accelerate mankind toward to each kind of desires at entire life times, and some drives of human desires are even composed of three elements together (entertainment, fashion, casino, war, etc.) And sometimes, policy makers are use skills of high oppression plus reward system to facilitate and regulate their management of human desires too.

But here's a story:

A man died in sudden stress, and he just about to conscious last scene of his life,
"Gosh! My life were so short.”
Then he saw a holy man walk toward him with a suitcase in hand,
"Alright! Let's go!"
"So quick! I still have a lots of things undone!" He yelled.
"I am really sorry! But your time were due!"

"What's in your suitcase?" The man asked in suspicion.
"Oh! That's your relics."
"You mean that's my jewelry, art collections, clothing and cash?"
"No! Those things never belong to you, that only belong to planet earth."

"Would that be my memories?"
"No! That belong to times!"
"Would that be my talent?" The man guessed.
"No! That belong to your circumstances!"
"Then would they be my friends and relatives?"
"No! My son, they only passer-by of your journey!"

"Would that be my dear wife and child?" The man ask eagerly.
"No, they only belong to your heart."
"Then that must be my body."
"No! Your body belong to ashes."

At last "That must be my soul!" The man said affirmably.
The holy man gazed at him with smile,
"You totally wrong, my son! Your soul always belong to me from very beginning."

The man took over the suitcase from the holy man with tear in his eyes, then opened and
…there were absolutely empty!
“Does it mean that I never actual owned any things in my life?”
The man's face were covered with tears and asked with heartbreak.
"Yes! There were nothing really belong to you in the world."
"Then, what were me then?" The disease man said desperately.
"Every seconds when you alive were yours." The holy man said.

This unproved fable story tell us seemingly truth about our life, that no matter what drive us to achieve any needs or accomplishments which will bound to the emptiness, so, what are our life all about? All endeavors lead to nothingness?

Another story was that a lady got serious car accident once, and when she bleed and merely passed out, she heard a voice praised, said "Peaceful is love, and love is wisdom.” While she follow the praise constantly and bring to alive miraculously. Later, when she fully recovered she become the gospel person deliver this holy sentence from heaven to everybody and everywhere.

Maybe this simple sentence is the driven force of our life, and the person in front of us, is the sole person we care, and the wisdom is how we wanna give to the person, and time now is the only time we treasured, not past, not future.

May we filled up our suitcase with them!

Love,
Sergio Young
